Als student was hij al werkzaam bij verschillende specialisten in oldtimers en merkdealers in sportwagens. Na het behalen van een bachelor diploma autotechniek (Hoger Technisch Instutuut K. Mercier Brussel \u2013 1992) werd hij schade-expert bij een aantal verschillende expertisebureaus in de Vlaamse regio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sinds het nieuwe millennium stond Gert mee aan de wieg van The Engine Room, een club met facilitaire diensten voor bezitters van exclusieve wagens, en Beerens Classic&nbsp;Division, een van de grotere spelers op de oldtimermarkt.
